Color the Coop Fun Run

Saturday, March 14th

Check-in @ The Henway Cider Barn opens: 9:00 AM

Run begins: 10:00 AM

Get ready to shake your tail feathers—because the most colorful, hilarious, chicken-themed run in Loudoun is landing at Great Country Farms! Join Henway Hard Cider and GCF for the first-ever “Color the Coop” Fun Run a family-friendly, feather-filled sprint (or waddle!) through bursts of bright color powder and farm-fresh fun.

Whether you’re a speedy sprinter, a casual jogger, or a proud chicken who prefers to strut, this is your moment to shine… in every color of the rainbow.

What to Expect

Color Zones: Dash through multiple color stations where volunteers “peck” you with safe, non-toxic color powder. The goal? Leave looking like a tie-dye chicken masterpiece.

Chicken Run Theme: Dress as your favorite barnyard bird—wings, beaks, tutus, and all! Bonus cheers for full chicken costumes or matching flock outfits.

Hard Cider + Farm Vibes: Celebrate at the finish line with a refreshing Henway Hard Cider (21+) or fresh cider and farm treats for the kiddos.

Farm Fun Add-Ons: Stick around for a flap-tastic morning on the farm! Visit the barnyard animals, explore the Farm Play Area, and enjoy early-spring activities across Great Country Farms.

FAQ’s

Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about the Color the Coop Fun Run at Great Country Farms:

Is the color powder safe?

Yes! Our color powder is non-toxic and designed for event use. While generally safe, guests with sensitivities may want to wear a face covering or run around color stations.

Will the color stain my clothes?

Most color washes out, especially from synthetic athletic fabrics, but we recommend wearing items you’re okay getting colorful just in case.

Do I have to Run?

Not at all — walkers, families, pups and strollers are welcome. This is a fun run, not a timed race!

What should I bring?

Water bottle, towel for the ride home, and a change of clothes if you plan to stay after.

Are kids welcome?

Yes! This is a family-friendly event. Children should be supervised at all times.

What happens if it rains?

We run rain or shine unless severe weather creates unsafe conditions. Any updates will be shared via email and social.

Can I stay after the run?

Absolutely — we encourage you to relax, enjoy the farm/vineyard, and snap lots of colorful photos!

Can I bring my Dog?

Absolutely — we welcome your family friendly, leashed dog.  Please be aware your pup will get color on their fur as well so we suggest a blanket to sit on for the car ride home. Thank you for cleaning up after your pup.
